Barrie Toilet Rebate Program

The Barrie Toilet Rebate Program offers a $50 rebate to residents who replace high-flow fixtures (greater than six litres per flush) with low-flow fixtures (six litres or less). The rebate program aims to reduce water consumption in city residences.

Eligibility

  • This program is only open to owners of residences located within the City of Barrie limits.
  • Only homes built before 1996 are eligible for this program.
  • The City of Barrie will provide a maximum of one credit per dwelling.
  • The toilet rebate water bill credit is established at a level of $50.00.
  • The water bill credit is only available to residents who replace high-flow fixtures (greater than 6 litres per flush) with low flow fixtures (6 litres or less). Please note that this rebate does not apply to toilets installed as a result of new construction or additions.
  • The applicant must sign a form indicating that they have replaced a high flow fixture with a low-flow fixture and have disposed of the old toilet at the City of Barrie’s landfill (all fees are to be paid by the applicant at the time of disposal).

How to Apply

To receive a rebate, you will be required to provide:

  1. A completed Toilet Rebate Application Form (PDF).
  2. A receipt for the purchase of a new low-flow toilet (six litres or less).
  3. Proof of toilet purchase receipt.
  4. Water billing account number.
